Our Story

In 2014 our family launched a grassfed beef company: Richards Regenerative. For years, our Ranch had been raising grass fed cattle, but we only sold it to nearby friends and family, through conventional systems. Grassfed beef had started to become more of an interest to the consumer so we felt it would be a good time to sell our cows through a better market, the grass-fed beef market. 

Tom Richards, HarvestPath founder, was a Vice President of Sales at Salesforce for most of his career. Tom is naturally curious, and he wondered if we could utilize the Salesforce platform to monitor our cattle through their lifecycles, tracking their lineage, age, harvest date, their shift into beef products, processing, fabrication, and on to shipping and fulfillment. And so, the concept of HarvestPath was born. 

The beef company has evolved over the last decade, and we’ve wholeheartedly embraced the regenerative ranching model. The use of the HarvestPath platform has been invaluable in tracking not only our animals but the budgets, costs, customers, partners… basically every aspect of our ranching business, from calf to cut. 

Over the years we’ve been to a lot of conferences, speaking to our peers and industry leaders. We’ve found that there is a real need for ranchers to get rid of all the spreadsheets and different apps (which don’t even sync with each other) and have a single place to provide traceability of their operations. HarvestPath does just that. 

HarvestPath software has been put to the test on our ranch and through our entire operation. Now, with the help of our amazing leadership team and our investors who believe in what we’re doing to help provide a quality and healthy product, we’re ready to share this amazing product with you.
